In working on the blogware I'm writing, I have come across issues doing multiple categories..

basically I want my category heirarchy to be nested
such as: net (web, chat, cool sites) coding (mysql, php, mIRC, web (html, css, javascript)) life (friends, love (crushes, poly, relationships), woe, spite, drama) ...you get the idea.

Then I want to be able to select multiple categories per entry, for cross organization/archiving (and also because I tend to ramble on, sometimes).

This would result in a shitload of code for the update and edit pages, and a bit of a kludge for the code to map/display the cats on the entries.

See the entry in php that I posted, here for more information, and a better description of what I'm trying to do (check the comments).

Site scheme design for personal site (running this blog software) is finally done.

Added "PHPCurrently" to system, hoping to get permission from Louise to integrate it into the final product.

Finally found a way to get the moods to pull into a list.  Am hoping that it will work like I think it will.

To work on, today: Archives, Comment system, TRACKBACK!, fixing damned install scripts.

Mood table created (stole most of lj's moods).  Simple table, one column "mood".

Need to create catagory table (id, name, description?, parent_id).
Then, need to figure out how to insert catagories into table and pull parent ID and insert appropriate.

in other words? Need to learn MAOR SQL and php.

ultimate goals:
Admin: catagory administration (add, remove, etc..), mood admin (add, remove).
Post: timestamp, title, entry, catagory, mood, listening to/music.

wouldn't mind hooking up with someone competent in these things and learning from them, too.  Two minds working on one project, better than one.

For today, edit install file to add catagory field.

For soon: figure out admin.
